Holidays & Misc. Posts
Gil doesn't like Christmas trees being called holiday trees. Neither do I. DovBear likes it, and doesn't understand why others find it disingenuous.

Krum, meanwhile, doesn't like when people wish him "Merry Christmas".

Hmph. This part was supposed to be longer, but I gave Dovie his own post!

I like it? If it weren't for the fact that nobody reads your blog, I would be offended.

I like the fact that the loudmouth xtians got a stick in their eye, but I don't like the fact that the well-meaning xtians are condecedning to fold chanuka into their holiday, and I hate the fact that everyone - you included - thinks it's the Jews (and not well-meaning xtians) who are behind the movement to rename trees.

You are the only one who keeps saying "Jews" are behind anything, as Nephtuli and I pointed out to you yesterday. As pointed out, almost nobody believes that "Jews" are trying to do anything; most people (correctly) believe that it is liberals who are behind these pressures. Only you interpret the ACLU as "Jewish"; liberals as "Jewish". That a couple wackos threw the ADL in is meaningless, and usually means they have some gripe with the ADL (which even you would likely agree is not perfect).

You claim that you do not like Chanuka being condensed in with Christmas; yet, you focused on the Christian right getting a "stick in the eye" rather than on that fact. It seems that scoring points against the right makes condensing Chanukah into Christmas okay in your world view.
