Haveil Havalim #53 is up!

Haveil Havalim #53 is up at Elie's Expositions. Elie, fast becoming a favorite, did a great job putting it all together (in his first try at hosting) - and I thank him for including Repentance & Renewal even though it slipped my mind to submit anything this week. A quick definition of HH:
Haveil Havalim is the carnival of Jewish blogs -- a weekly collection of Jewish & Israeli blog highlights, tidbits and points of interest collected from blogs all around the world. It’s hosted by different bloggers each week and coordinated by Soccer Dad. The term “Haveil Havalim”, which means "Vanity of Vanities", is from Kohelet, Ecclesiastes, which was written by King Solomon. Solomon built the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and later on got all bogged down in materialism and other “excesses” and realized that it was nothing but “hevel”, or in English, “vanities.”
Check it out!

Last week: Ze'ev of Israel Perspectives hosted #52.

Next week: Jack's Shack hosts #54 - e-mail submissions to talktojacknow at sbcglobal dot net.

  1. I do not understand this.. the Haveil Havalim is great, but I do not understand how it works. What does one submit? Just that he should look at my blog and pick something to mention? How does one become part of this? Is there a rotation of who writes them?

  2. Soccer Dad organizes HH, and you can ask him if you'd like to host. You submit posts you think are HH-material: About Judaism, Israel, etc. Anyone can submit posts any week, plus the writers tend to search out for more material as well.

  3. Thanks for the words of praise!

PS: If you're so inclined, I'd be glad to be added to your blogroll.

  4. Heh - You don't understand... I've been wanting to add you and a few other people for the last few weeks, but I'm afraid I'm going to fail my finals if I do! :)

Actually, I want to revamp my blogroll, I'm just trying to figure out how. When I do, you're going on iyH.
