Ezzie's Blog Roundup, 12/12

It has been and will be a continually busy week, what with my mother visiting with us until tomorrow, our own trip to Baltimore this weekend, and my constant quest to find a good accounting job for February (anybody here work in a mid-size or Big Four firm? I've got a very good resume...!).

Then, of course, there's the all-important JIB Awards, of which nominations have begun - if anyone feels the desire to nominate me for any category, that would be much appreciated. I don't think getting multiple nominations for the same category hurts, either, so if you want to second someone else's nomination that's fine, too! :) I've already nominated a couple of blogs, but I'm going to do a bunch more when I have the time to think (and blog) about it. Whomever you nominate, be sure to put it in the proper format!

Finally, this week I get the honor of hosting the Haveil Havalim Anniversary Edition. Details are at both SoccerDad and here, submission details are here. It's going to be an atypical HH, that's for certain. Please read the details and get in your submissions, old and new! Thanks!

And now, on to the rest of the roundup:
Beyond BT continues its great start, teaching why being true to one's roots is always a good thing - however strange.

Ze'ev shows hypocrisy among the Nobels - and not the peace prizes. He also wonders if he's due for one himself. (Ummm... no.)

Jack wants to know how many blogs you read. (50+)

JoeSettler has a sharp post regarding checkposts and pat-downs. Palestinians complain that they have to go through checks because of their suicide bombers - how do they think we feel!?

Life-of-Rubin notes the latest poll that the media is glossing over: 71% of Iraqis say their lives are "going very well", and 67% think it will be better in a year. Chaim himself is being interviewed this week over at Basil's Blog.

Krum (at Maven Yavin) has a truly sharp Post-Mortem on Slifkin post, wondering where we'll go from here.

PsychoToddler is stuck in the Beans' garage, with only dog food. Except when they go meet other bloggers. But at least they're letting him blog.

Robbie knows what to do with his parents.

Shoshana debates spirituality vs. religion.
Check it out!

  1. Is it really safe to hire you if you're going to be spending your whole day blogging?

  2. LOL. I was waiting for a comment like that...

    Put it this way:

    1) The blog will probably suffer a bit when I get a job.

    2) I can accomplish a lot in a very short time... and I don't sleep much. (Look at the times on my posts.)

  3. Ezzie, how can you be so sure that I wont win a Nobel Prize?

  4. As one of your commenters noted... your only shot is at the Peace Prize: And you're not exactly their type. :)

  7. Ezzie -
I totally would, if I didn't have to work until 2 on Friday.
