Book Meme

I probably owe some other memes (and if you know I do, please remind me), but this is an interesting one if only because I rarely read actual books these days, though I am an avid reader in general. If there's a good book lying around, I devour it - yet, I never seem to have any lying around anymore. I love books, yet won't go to the library just 2 blocks away to take any out. Weird. Meanwhile, my answers are probably going to be of quite a different bent than most people... and I cheat.

I've been tagged by Shoshana...
1. One book that changed your life? Green Eggs & Ham; Are You My Mother?; Go My Son

2. One book you have read more than once? Rainbow Six (first good one to come to mind... I rarely read books twice); Orchos Tzadikim [Paths of the Righteous]; And Then There Were None

3. One book you would want on a desert island? How To...

4. One book that made you laugh? Calvin & Hobbes (what, that's not a book?); When Do The Good Things Start? (also made me think)

5. One book that made you cry? Love You Forever (also made me smile)

6. One book you wish had been written? Change the World

7. One book you wish had never been written? Eichah (Lamentations)

8. One book you are currently reading? None. I almost never stop a book in the middle... I just take a couple hours and finish it.

9. One book you have been meaning to read? Moneyball; Freakonomics; An Army of Davids

10. Now tag five people. DovBear, CharlieHall, KollelMama, RenReb (if her Internet is up), JewishAtheist, HolyHyrax [he's a hyrax, so it doesn't count to the five].

  1. Thanks for doing the meme. How come all of a sudden, I'm green and not purple?

  2. Freakonomics is a very enjoyable book, I read it over a day and I am a *very* slpw reader usually. Check out "Blink" if you enjoy it too.

  4. Rebecca - Now imagine catching up on a week's worth of 100 blogs... ;)

Shoshana - My pleasure.... LOL. I actually had purple, but changed it - it came from the Ramblings blog which is green, so... :)

IYWI - Yeah, I once read a few pages at someone's house... then we were leaving. :(

JA - Yah - hmmm, it makes a lot of sense that you'd be into it, actually... ;) (think about what it's about)

  5. I think that your blog name and the names of the main characters are fitting. :) So are a lot of the discussions C & H have on their way down the mountains on their sled... or the ones between C & his Dad.

    No? :)

  6. True. :-) I always enjoyed Calvin's musings about Santa. "Santa Claus: kindly old elf, or CIA spook?"

  10. i like this meme... i've been looking for more of a variety of books to read lately.

i think i should probably start with 'green eggs & ham'. (for some reason my parents didn't let me have that one. maybe it's because they didn't want me reading about treif meat. weird.)
