Soccer Dad, frankly, I doubt it--when a baby is ready, a baby is ready. What's the rush, anyway? They'll get to it sooner or later.
Don't forget the outlet covers, so she doesn't french-fry herself sticking things into those cute holes in the wall. Time, too, to lock up the cabinets with the household cleaners and medicines in them, and to baby-proof the drawers where knives are stored. I can't make any suggestions about how to baby-proof the wiring to your computer, printer, fax machine, etc., as our kid was a toddler in the days when hardly anyone (including us) owned a home computer yet, but I'm sure some of your friends and relatives have been through this and can offer suggestions.
Oh, zeesh, I forgot that much of this advice is probably already here.
So, nu, can we get some photos to ooh and ahh over and kvell about, as Irina was saying? Congratulations! That's one small step for a baby, one giant leap for you and Serach. :)
Aww! Any picturese forthcoming?!
ReplyDeleteaww cute.
ReplyDeletetime to start baby-proofing everything too ;)
Make sure you get one of the very sturdy ones specifically for the top of the stairs! :) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if keeping babies on their backs delays the start of rolling over and crawling.
