Super Bowl XLI

At least we don't have to get all the dumb XL jokes from last year...

Colts 38, Bears 20. Okay - not really, but I have 8/0 in one of my pool "boxes".

The Colts should win by double digits, though... go Colts! (I have to - too many Chicago friends, ya know?)

  1. Not that I have any idea about the superbowl (other than the expensive ads that are shown) but it's kinda cool that I'm in the US for it. Perhaps I should find a tv to watch it on.

  2. So...if you didnt have so many friends who lived in a superior city, who would youpick to win?

  3. this was nto surprising. I think you have yet to pick the Chicago Bears to win a single game the whole season....
Hopefully you will be wrong again this time! (no hard feelings.. :-) )

    Go BEARS!!

  4. Sarah - Um, DUH!?

DAG - Indy. But I wouldn't be so blatant about the double-digits. :)

Rafi - Not true. I picked them almost every week... including against the Pack. That cost me the pool for that week!

  5. I'm rooting for Chicago, plus if Manning wins this I think he'll be less effective next year. Some people slow down a bit once they have got what they were chasing for so long. It'll be more dramatic if he loses this year and then comes back next year and wins it ...

  6. so Chaim you think Manning will lose it on purpose so that next year he will have more drama?

  7. Nincompoop. (I shouldn't talk, I still believe the Giants are gonna win, but still.)

  8. Chaim - Nah. Once he wins, he finally gets to go for "best ever" - which I think he will be, when all is said and done.

    Taz - Hehe.

  9. I'll be watching the game from London (if I can stay up) This happened once before and it was hilarious. The commentators have to explain every detail. "The american football is an oblong spheorid, brown in color and laced....."

  10. David,

They do know about rugby, which has a ball not totally different from a football.

  12. This yr, English television had the
US network commentators feed so the actual play-by-play wasn't as bad as in the past (though I don't think they did such a great job anyhow). The thing is that is seems the British companies aren't foolish enough to buy ad time during a game that they know most Brits are not watching. So, when you guys in the US go to break (and, let's face it, the commercials during the SB are often better than the game itself), they switch to their commentators. This year they had one American, Merril Hoge who was ok but seemed uncomfortable about having to explain everything and answer some silly questions. But since he's a former Steeler, I'll give him a pass (sorry EZ. Then there was some other guy who was the questioner and this beefy rugby player who was inane. Well, it looks like the NFL is pushing into global markets and will actually be playing a game in London this coming year. Maybe that will get the interest level up.

  13. David Linn - LOL! Watching in Israel was a bit weak, too, though at least we had all the commercials.

Rafi G - Seriously. Take away the opening kickoff and Jones' 53-yard run, and the Colts basically dominated 59-1/2 minutes.
