What - only note-taking during class? The horror!
ReplyDeleteI once sat in on an uncle's class at Columbia U. Everyone was on a laptop. But he said he was pretty sure they were listening - he once strolled behind the desks to see. I suspect there was a bit of x-ing happening as he passed, but hey, maybe he's truly fascinating.
I know most of my lecture professors forbade anything more digital than a scientific calculator in class.
I once had a teacher who (after class) flat-out asked me what I was doing on my laptop during. I told him I was taking notes, and he was okay with that. (I neglected to mention that I also sometimes play solitare and that I spent most of class IMing the girl sitting next to me, who was not taking notes, but most of my attention was focused on taking notes, so I felt okay omitting the other stuff).
