The Tollbooth Operator

I just posted an incredible story that happened to us last night at Kindness Happens. It was an amazing act of kindness that was done on our behalf...

Please don't hesitate to contact Shoshana, whose idea it was to start Kindness Happens, and join the blog. We'd love as many people as possible contributing their extraordinary and ordinary acts of kindness, whether given or received. For more info, read this post.

  1. Awesome!

    (Ezzie - check your email!!)

A couple years ago, on the way home from Niagara Falls, Bagel HAD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM ***NOW***, and the trailer at the toll booth and a clear sign that said "no public restrooms" which obviously meant there _were_restrooms inside, right? So I walked in and begged the man sitting there to let my 5 year old daughter use the bathroom... he kind of waved his hand to the left and we wandered in that direction and found the bathroom!

  2. It's those warm, kind, Ohio folks. No one else like 'em.

We made the drive from NYC to Cleveland a billion times - our car can do Route 80 all by itself at this point! Now we drive back to NYC from elsewhere, but I remember that trip well. We know every rest stop on the route, because Mr. EK has a bladder the size of a teabag and we travel with tiny people who sometimes throw up in the car. Didn't you need to know all of that information? Don't thank me, I'm a giver :-) Shabbat Shalom!
