In one of James Brown's songs (I'll Go Crazy) he was caught in a major societal dilemma.
One line is "If you leave me, I'll go crazy"
Another line is "You gotta live for yourself, for yourself and nobody else"
Who but this great philosopher could have described this existential contradiction so succinctly?
With President Ford, however, the most memorable line was not really from him, but from the NY Daily News: "FORD TO CITY: DROP DEAD". Can anyone remember anything Ford actually said?

ReplyDeleteI'm going to vote with MordyS and say that James Brown was a greater loss than Gerald Ford.
