woohoo! 16/20 that bit at the end about the different muscles used for real vs fake smiles is pretty cool. now, the real question is: can people tell when YOU'RE faking?
12/20. Actually, I expected worse. Part of the problem with the test is that I didn't know the people at all, didn't know the context. In real life, I think, people are actually BETTER at these things, because they have clues as to what's happening and what they can expect.
Ditto to KollelMama. What did y'all put down for the question at the end? I actually put down eyebrows (although I wanted to say shoulders/Adam's apple for guys/lingering aspect).
19/20. I got the third one wrong. I looked at the eyes. It was fairly obvious that way. Fun stuff- thanks for posting it! :)(that is a real smile by the way)
I got 17 out of 20. I really should have gotten 18 out of 20 because i did not realize you are supposed to play the smiles until i got through a few of them already. Thanks for the link. That was fun.
I SO rock!!! 16 out of 20 :)
ReplyDeleteI always knew that I was good at this.
12 out of 20. Not bad :)
ReplyDeleteWhat did you get, Ezzie?
Eh. That's what happens when you're in a rush... 15/20. But three of the five I got wrong I was undecided... :)
ReplyDeleteWow. I bombed. But of those I got, most were fake...
ReplyDelete15 out of 20. Not bad. Helps to be a fundraiser. See right through the BS smiles...
ReplyDelete15/20
ReplyDeleteOuch, my second failed test (first one being my driving test)...11/20...guess I'm not as good at reading people as I thought...
ReplyDeleteterrible, but I've never been good at testing.
ReplyDeleteI got 15/20, better than I thought I would actually.
ReplyDeleteOw, I'm bad at this! 10/20
ReplyDeleteI look at people's eyes when they smile...I still say half of those "genuine" smiles look fake. Their eyes are not smiling!
Chana, I look at the eyes, too. :)
ReplyDelete17/20 the second time, when I actually took some time... weirdly, I got three wrong that I think I got right the first time.
ReplyDeletei thought it was the eyes that give it away too. but then i try to look at the overall face as well for other giveaways.
ReplyDeleteSome jerk their heads when they're genuine - they're clearly smiling *at* something/someone or other.
ReplyDeleteyeh and some look more spontaneous.
ReplyDeletehard to tell though. i remember studying a unit on facial expressions in psychology. without context it's sometimes hard to tell.
woohoo! 16/20

ReplyDelete19/20- #5 i was wrong
ReplyDeleteThe way I always knew if a smile was genuine was if it lingered on their face for a little bit after.
ReplyDeleteDitto to KollelMama. What did y'all put down for the question at the end? I actually put down eyebrows (although I wanted to say shoulders/Adam's apple for guys/lingering aspect).
ReplyDeleteI did pretty well, I scored 17/20.

ReplyDeleteSeventeen, baby!
ReplyDelete16/20...I think that is pretty good. I like to think I am fairly good at reading people. (It helps a lot in dating...) :D
