The Kosher Overseers Association of America (KOAOA, or Half-Moon-K) recently announced that they’ve completed their full and thorough review of “virtually all of the companies and products” under their purview, and brought their practices up to “all of the standards that the Kosher-consuming public has the right to demand.”KosherBlog points to the Seattle's Vaad online listing of acceptable hechsherim where it now has the Half-Moon K listed, as part of the Orthodox Union (OU).
Particularly important:
ALL DOLE PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN REVIEWED AND ARE ACCEPTABLE, with the exception of fruit cups.
That letter is dated June 2007.

ReplyDeleteYeah, so that post is old, but also, I saw this post and decided to e-mail my Rav. He said that he spoke to the OU and they told him it's still NOT final. So I don't know if it's necessarily time to go out and buy all their stuff just yet...
ReplyDeleteI received an email from my shul about this in the fall...stating that everything had been investigated in the months before the email was sent, and that it was ok to purchase all of their products now.
ReplyDeleteSuper duper old news.
