Jameel

In case for some reason you don't already read The Muqata, check out these posts:
Jameel wrote about an old family friend who has gotten through the first phase of a lawsuit against the US to have his son's passport say Israel.

A rant against the jerks who "out" bloggers, which brings to mind another post, which I'll write later when I have time.

And finally, a post about the route of the Israeli fence which has just been changed.
And no, Jameel isn't paying me, nor does this excuse my living outside of the State of Israel in his eyes. And no, he didn't threaten me in any way. Enjoy!

  1. Does threatening work? 'Cause if it does....

  2. Ezzie; You barely lucked out, Mon.

If you hadn't put up those posts within 5 more minutes, I woulda come over and had to break your kneecaps!

    Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Robbie - LOL. But just so you know, according to the new TTLB, I link to you more than just about everybody! :)

Jameel - My pleasure. OWW! What was that for!?!?!?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Don't be fooled by Jameel. He's a fictious brute of man, hell-bent on getting his way. And if he doesn't, he busts knee caps. He's an evil little man. Just do what he says and everyones knees will be OK.

    ReplyDelete
  5. fictious????

    I guess I meant vicious.

    ReplyDelete
  6. That's 'cause I'm your favorite.

But I'm not above beating you up, if need be.

    ReplyDelete
  7. I'm still shocked that you two haven't met, actually.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ezzie; That who hasn't met? Myself and Holy Hyrax? Myself and Robbie? Or Robbie and Holy Hyrax?

In any event...next business trip, I hope to meet HH as well :)

And vicious is correct. You should see the latest gadgets on my M16...(but I took the laser sight off my Glock 19c since I didn't really need it to be lethal)

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ya well, I installed a new timer on my toaster.

Aval yalla, I'm waiting. You, me and Chardal in a no hole barred match of Yatze.

    ReplyDelete
  10. But not me?

Why don't you want to meet me?

    Do you not like me?

    I'm a very nice person.

At least that's what some people say...

    ReplyDelete
  11. I'm sure you are a lovely man Robbie. But I am the one that dislikes Israel, therefore Muqata and I have to meet each other and get into an endless debate over moving to Israel. But you can join in the Yatze game.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Makes sense. I just dislike Israelis. Israel itself? I'm ok with that.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh, absolutely. Israel is so magnificent. It's a shame the inhabitants have to ruin it all.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I meant Jameel & HH with all of your West Coast trips. Though you've never met me, either - just a million people who know me. Wait - what gadgets? I want to see!

HH - LOL. Nu, you fit the profile of an NRA guy, how come you don't have any toys?

Robbie - It's not that we don't want to, of course not! You stay out there in the middle of nowhere, and it's hard to meet you... ;)

Actually, a meal with the three of you would probably be hilarious. As long as Jameel doesn't shoot us all.

And HH - yeah, so they come to the US and ruin that instead. ;) :P

    ReplyDelete
  15. And HH - yeah, so they come to the US and ruin that instead. ;) :P

Ruin is too weak of a word to describe "them."

and like I said, Jameel does not use his M16 to shoot. He uses it to brake kneecaps. Like I said, just wave and smile to him, and everything will be just fine.

    ReplyDelete
  16. BTW, your last hat tip is a big hit. I've gotten emails about it, and keep seeing people coming to listen to it. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. You can actually track people coming into a specific post or hitting a certain link?

Wow. It's amazing what you bloggers are capable of. I am amazed more of you haven't gone mad with power yet

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh, we have... we have. AHAHAHAHAHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  19. The 'Israel on the passport' issue points out one reason why us libs dislike Bush so much. If there is a law he doesn't like, he just ignores it. Unfortunately, the only real recourse is impeachment, and I don't think that even a Democratic congress will impeach a President for refusing to print the right word on a passport.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Charlie - that's a really unfair attack. There is no difference between Bush and Clinton on this issue (ask my uncle ;) ). Clinton was wrong, and Bush is wrong. It's a political game, and it will be interesting to see who wins this one.

    ReplyDelete
  21. The passport question is interesting. I remember working on it a little back when I was working for the ZOA. In essence Congress conditioned funds for foreign policy on the government recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capitol. Bush signed the law even though he disagreed with it because it impinged on his foreign policy power and refused to apply it.

If you ask me, the President is under no obligation (especially since the SC struck down the line-item veto) to veto a bill if he disagrees with a small part of it. Let the court's decide what is and what isn't constitutional.

But if the power to determine what is Israel's capitol resides in the Executive, Congress' condition might be unconstitutional. We'll have to see whether this case is another example of a spending clause violation. It's something I'm not that familar with.

    ReplyDelete
  22. HH: That's it. Next trip...I come on over....we meet. Done Deal. Chardal, You, Me, and we leave the weaponry locked up. We close the door, and don't open it till you're moving to Israel (or I'm moving to LA)...sound fair?

Robbie: Where do you live? I'll be thrilled to meet you as well!

Ezzie; Every week I meet another Clevelander that knows you...or your family. And Gadgets? I'll try to send you a pic ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wait - if I'm in LA, am I invited?!

Robbie is in Chicago (nebach). [snort]

Hey - stop stalking me! (Nu, email me with who!)

    ReplyDelete
  24. No problem Muqata-man. I'll see you here. And you might as well bring your weapons, cause I'm bringing mine.

Just one last thing. Are you a medium or large:

    http://images.t-shirts.com/printed/jpegs/TSH001/medium/LOS_ANGELES_PALM.jpg

Ezzie, sorry, this has to be Israeli vs. Israeli. It all comes down to this. You can sit in the stands and cheer for me though.

    ReplyDelete
  25. (grumble)

Wait, so me and Chardal have to sit and watch? Can we at least referee or something? Heckle? Shoot at both of you just to make things more exciting? Anything, man!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Shoot Jameel. I have no problems with that.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yo HH - why don't you drop me an email - alot easier than attempting to IM via Ezzie's comments section!

    ReplyDelete
  28. But this is the only fun Ezzie has at these obsene NY hours.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Darn you ez. Always one step ahead of me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. HH: I just emailed Ezzie a picture of me...I think he would agree that you should be VERY VERY SCARED.

    No Holds Barred.

    ReplyDelete
  31. HH: I wonder who's side Bari VeShema will be on...mine or yours. (I know Chardal will be rooting for me)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Im shaking in my Abrocrombie & Fitch sandals.

What picture is it, you holding some rocket launcher :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. Chardal likes me too much. I have a feeling he will be cheering for me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. HH, ALWAYS ahead. Remember, us bloggers are all-powerful.

Jameel sent me a picture of him wearing bunny ears. It's scary in many ways.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Wait, are there odds on this? I'm sure I could get a pool going...

    ReplyDelete
  36. HH: shaking...as you should be.

    Rocket launchers are for wimps.

Just my regular shabbat weaponry ensemble makes people walk in the other direction.

Even my pj's strike terror at those who see them...this is not going to be pretty. I seriously advise you to prepare for aliya now...to make it easier on yourself.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Jameel sent me a picture of him wearing bunny ears. It's scary in many ways.

Like I said, hes a mad man. He's clearly being defiant to me with his "Shafan" ears. Truly mad.

    ReplyDelete
  38. HH: Chardal cheering for you to stay in America? Doubt it highly.

    ReplyDelete
  39. He's also got crazy red hair, like 16in. long. Redheads are NUTS.

    ReplyDelete
  40. HH; You got it dude. The ears prove who's the Holy Hyrax and who's gonna be the Hyrax full of holes.

    ReplyDelete
  41. And not only is HE wearing intimidating shades, but the wall behind him is wearing TWO pairs! Scary.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ezzie: You can't reveal everything in the picture...(like the watch....whatever you do, DON'T mention the watch)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I fear him not. I've seen LOTR plenty of times. I feel I know how to use a bow and arrow pretty well. If its a fight he wants, its a fight he is gonna get.

Jameel: Seeing you in PJ's would scare me too. I'm assuming there is some rules in the geneva convention about using that.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Since when do Israelis abide by Geneva? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. As long as he does not have the "watch" I will be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  46. HH: Since when does Israel follow the geneva convention? (and I'm a colonial settler occupationalist for G-d's sake!)

I had better keep this match with you quiet from my oldest kid...he can't wait to visit the US this summer. Maybe he would want to cheer for you!

(Thats the big problem with American relatives...he got all sorts of materialistic junk for his bar mitzva...video ipod...mp3 players...digital cameras...dvd player...ARG!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ezzie: you took my geneva convention line! arg...thats what happens when you blog during meetings...

    ReplyDelete
  48. HH: I understand that Ezzie wants to beat GH's record of 700+ comments on a posting...

How much is he paying you? He gave me extra links ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Jameel says I may not reveal that in the picture he has the "watch", so I will not comment on the "watch" in the picture.

    ReplyDelete
  50. LOL. The day I get 700 comments is the day I'm forced into hiding from the crazy left...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Ezzie; 52 comments so far...not bad. When was the last time you had 52...?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ezzie: And...I think I win this round by TKO...no posting from HH in over 7 minutes.

He's down for the count ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  53. ooooh, can I get an Ipod?

Ezzie is not paying me anything. except for secretly emailing me about the watch But no, I love talking to you guys when I could be in bed.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I'm not down. Just reading Ezzie secret emails to me.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hey! Ezzie's sending me secret emails as well!

    ReplyDelete
  56. So you coming this summer. Excellent. Someone else is coming this summer that I know. If I find you worthy, I might introduce you to him. But you will have to admit that I am right about everything. (and the handsomest)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I hope Ezzie didn't say anything about the watch...that would be my undoing.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Well what do you expect from a cavs fan. Can't trust them for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Forget about it muqata man, I got the same watch from the 99 cent store. You've lost again.

    ReplyDelete
  60. HH: OK, Ezzie can root for you.

That will be your handicap ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Hey!

Hmm, I wonder who's coming over the summer. Bet I could guess.

    ReplyDelete
  62. HH: WHAT?! EZZIE TOLD YOU ABOUT THE WATCH?!

Thats it. Ezzie - now its gonna be ONE ON TWO.

YOU AND HH vs. ME. I'll take you BOTH on.

This has gotten WAY TOO PERSONAL.

    ReplyDelete
  63. HH: OK, Ezzie can root for you.

That will be your handicap ;-)

OUCH. That is SO low. :( It's not my fault Cleveland is cursed, ya know. My Dad was at the Drive. I remember the Fumble (I was 3). I remember the Shot (locked self in bathroom - I was 6). The Blown Save. It's just not right... (sobs)

    ReplyDelete
  64. I did NOT send any secret e-mails! He's from CA, he lies!

    ReplyDelete
  65. HH: I'll probably be there BEFORE the summer. I'm in a meeting now as we type...which may decide my next trip. Could be before Shavuot...

However, you are NOT right about everything, and Israel is THE PLACE where we should live.

And now, it terms of the handsomest...Ezzie's now seen my pic...so you need to send him one and let him decide ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Um, I've met HH. It's a close call. But you are wearing a wat--whoops!

    ReplyDelete
  67. and just to tick you off more Jameel. I responded to your comment on GH. :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Ezzie: You aren't sending him secret emails? What do you expect from the people on the Left Coast.

And...most of the people I know are coming to Israel this summer, not vice versa. (Bloggers, I mean...)

    ReplyDelete
  69. He may have the 99 cents watch, but I have a great Simpsons T-shirt.

Jameel, one day when I'm stoned enough on Benedryl to go on a plane, I might come visit you. Though you will have to come pick me up and I want full military honors.

    ReplyDelete
  70. What bloggers are coming to Israel????

Lakewood Yid?? Great, you can keep him :)

    ReplyDelete
  71. HH: Now THAT was LOW!

However, (on a serious note for a change), I doubt it highly (your comment on GH's blog).

You think that secular Zionism may have had something to do with Chareidi Judaisim going off the derech?

    ReplyDelete
  72. HH: I can't reveal who's coming. If there's one thing I'm VERY careful about - it's not outting anyone...(being that I know almost everyone)

Problem at the airport is that they don't allow any weapons into the arrival's terminal. And I really don't want to go wearing my Shabak clothes....or policeman sweatshirt.

    ReplyDelete
  73. You think that secular Zionism may have had something to do with Chareidi Judaisim going off the derech?

Yes. UOs are reactionary, going to extremes to distance themselves from secular Jews, no matter the cause.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yeah, you'd stick out dressed as yourself. Then you'd probably get arrested and beaten.

    ReplyDelete
  75. HH: See - you may have given up on Lakewood Yid...but I have hope for everyone! (even you ;-)

Which is why, I will win...and you will come to Israel :-)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think there are alot of factors. I think Israeli Charedi went so extreme opposite of anything secular, zionism obviously included that it in affect became way too fundamental. I actually have a shiur I can send you that the lecturer (from the OU) discusses this a bit and its influence on American Orthodox education.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Ha - ahead of HH as always. :)

    ReplyDelete
  78. Darn you Ez, you beat me again.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Ezzie; airport security doesn't beat up shabak agents.

Besides, your (lack) of security clearance means I can't reveal what agency I'm part of.

Let's just say...my wife told me over shabbat (since she HATES the muqata name) that I should rename my blog...Shomron CTU...and call myself Jack Bauer. Yanki Bauer?

    ReplyDelete
  80. arrrggggh, again.

    ReplyDelete
  81. HH: But your comment on GH's blog was that Israeli Chareidi influenced World Chareidi...not that secular Zionism influenced World Chareidi.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Blasphemy! There is only one Jack Bauer, you Kofer.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I was not very specific on GH's. I was more able to explain it here. But I would not "blame" it on secular zionism. Like Ezzie said, UO are incredibly reactionary and what we have today is the outcome of years to that "reaction" to anything secular. I guess till it all spills over to the rest of the Charedim across the world.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Secular Zionism influenced Israel Charedi which influenced World Charedi?

Though I'd have just said CJ reacted to SZ worldwide, period...

    ReplyDelete
  85. Cause I don't think its just SZ, it has to be more than that.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Oh, how'd you guys like the pic I sent you?

    ReplyDelete
  87. HH: Maybe it was the Shoah they were reacting to? That makes even more sense...

Ezzie: My wife is now a 24 addict...(I've never watched it)

and in terms of being a kofer...Ive been called worse.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Well, the 'eruv rav' of CJ is constantly trying to out-'frum' each other. With less materialistic stuff to top each other with, they do it with frumkeit. It's a natural desire to put others down and push ourselves up.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Start from Season 1 Episode 1. Betcha can't watch just one! (And if your wife didn't start from 1:1, she must stop IMMEDIATELY and go back.)

    ReplyDelete
  90. Im sure the Shoah is a reason. Like I said, I don't think its only SZ. Alot was lost in the war. In desperation to reclaim what was lost, I guess this is what happened. Im sure its a whole mess of small and large issues all working together to form the mess we are in now.

    ReplyDelete
  91. nice pic Ezzie. That water gun looks almost real.

    ReplyDelete
  92. And you Jameel, to answer your question, I am going to sleep now. And the reason I don't get gmail is because only Israelis use gmail. Americans use Yahoo. :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. I think the Shoah was a primary reason (more than SZ). However, as you wrote, UO is reactionary:

They reacted to the Shoah by blaming SZ for it.

The Shoah was a catalsyt to go off the derech searching for truth since it was too mind boggling that all the yeshivot of europe and such a huge frum community was destroyed.

    ReplyDelete
  94. HH: But I can't chat from work with Yahoo...I can with gmail.

Besides...many other blog gedolim use gmail. So there.

    hah!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Ok boys, I really have to sleep now. Mazal Tov on 100 comments. Pray my wife does not find out what time it is when I sneak into bed. And please don't talk about me while I am away. It would damage my self-esteem horribly.

    Lila Tov

    ReplyDelete
  96. Ezzie; Another pic is on its way to you...

    ReplyDelete
  97. HH: Goodnight! Next time, we need to do this on my blog ;-)

    Lila tov.

    ReplyDelete
  98. >Besides...many other blog gedolim use gmail. So there.

    hah!

That Godol is an exception. He is a Godol after all, not mere mortal like you.

    ReplyDelete
  99. CRAP, MY WIFE JUST CAUGHT ME. GOTTA GO.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Ezzie: I think we need to start a "Save the Holy Hyrax" fund...

I know how he must feel right now. Poor Guy.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Laila Tov, HH. I would NEVER talk about you behind your back... (oh man, is he finally gone? Geez. Now we can get back to the party... what a party pooper, that loser.)

Your wife? Thank God for Elianna, or I'd be dead. :)

Many blog gedolim DO have gmail, but I do not, so HH wins.

ROTFL on the pic! Awesome. Nice truck. :)

    Okay, GOOD NIGHT!

    ReplyDelete
  102. Oh, I can relate. He's dead. (bows head in mourning)

    ReplyDelete
  103. That was fun - we should do it again sometime...(is this a record for your blog?)

However...I AM going to bed now...don't want to get slaughtered like the Hyrax.

    ReplyDelete
