Queens Israel Solidarity Concert 2011
Israel Solidarity Fund of America
3502 Quentin Road Brooklyn, NY 11234
(917) 751-1237
April 4, 2011
Dear Friend,
In the last few weeks a young family in Itamar, Israel was brutally murdered and the following week a bus was bombed in Jerusalem. Americans read about these horrible events and now many are looking for a way to help. We live here in New York without such fears of attack and bombings. We must stand together in support of those who risk their lives each day by living in Israel. Their presence in Israel ensures that Jewish people will always have a homeland.
We will be holding a benefit concert to bring people in the Queens community and beyond together in support of Israel and to raise money for victims of terror.
By aiding victims of terror we will help ourselves and our people to live better lives. We need your help. As a grassroots effort, being launched by members of the community, we need to raise money to make money. At this time we are looking to raise $40-50,000 by April 10, 2011 in order to get this event off the ground. Once we have sponsorships for the event, all profits from the concert will go directly to the victims and their families. Israel Solidarity Fund is run by volunteers and has no over head costs. We hope we can count on your support.

Co-Chair Queens Israel Solidarity Concert
Good Evening,
ReplyDeleteThank you to those who were able to come out tonight in the inclement weather, and for those of you who couldn't make it I want to thank you for taking the initiative as I am assuming you understood the importance of such an event and were already out soliciting donors and sponsorships.
Tonight we discussed the details of the event:
Who: A-List Jewish talent that will draw a sold out crowd
What: A benefit concert in solidarity of Israel
Where: Queens College Colden Theatre
When: June 19, 2011 in the evening
Why: Two main goals: 1) To have Queens host an event that will bring together people from our neighborhoods and the greater NY Jewish community in solidarity for Israel 2) Raise money to benefit victims of terror (We initially will focus on helping the Fogel orphans. Once they have completed their shloshim mourning period, we will set up a meeting with the family and discuss their needs. Should they have what they need, we will be in touch with our connections in Israel to help any of the other victims of terror, such as the five victims still hospitalized after the Jerusalem bombing.)
Our cause is important and our passion is real. The organization we are going through is the Israel Solidarity Fund of America. It is a registered non-profit and the beauty is that there are no paid employees, meaning no overhead or administrative fee to cut from the profits. Therefore, every penny of profit we are able to raise will go directly to the victims and their families.
Here's your next task...please think about 5 people you know (family, friends, family friends, neighbors and colleagues) who you think may be willing to donate a significant amount of money to sponsor this event. Our goal to get started is to raise between $40-50,000 in the next 7-10 days. It may sound like a lot but if we can find 10 people to give $5,000, I promise to plan a knock out event sure to raise tens of thousands of dollars for our neediest brothers and sisters in Israel. I can promise it because the person producing the concert has done it almost twenty times before.
So if you are willing to ask for donations, please do so. If you want to give me names and numbers, that works too. If you want to set up a meeting for me to meet with someone, I am open to that as well. Please help in whatever way you can.
Of course if you have any questions or concerns let me know. Again, please forward this email to anyone you think may be interested or willing to take on such a task. Tizku L'Mitzvot.
Sincerely,
Samantha Kramer
