  3. As a chemist I can tell you that your image is credible and accurate.
People don't understand that there are NO specifications to bottle water. Whatever they write on the back where it has all those pretty zeros is what they want to write, nothing is mandated...nothing is certified and no tests are run.
I think I'll blog about this too...
    THANKS!

  5. Help! I know that drinking bottled water is a big no-no, for environmental and health reasons. Think of all that BPA and the huge plastic island in the Pacific, right?

Ok, but then I read this in today's New York Times:

    ---
Tap Water Might Be Legal, but Unhealthy

The federal law regulating tap water is so out of date that the water Americans drink can pose serious health risks.

So... am I safest if I stick with vodka?

Most major municipalities do a pretty good job cleaning up their water. I have it on authority that if you run your cold water tap for 2 minutes the water is just as pure as bottle water claims to be. Perhaps you could buy some bottles and fill them with tap water at a fraction of the price you pay the water companies to do the same thing for you.
