I don't have time now to post - perhaps later, after I get the cooking started. Meanwhile, here is one of the views I was able to enjoy in beautiful, sunny California, from the 20th floor of a nice office building in the city.
I couldn't get a panoramic view, because of the way the building is set up, so this is just one angle - off in the distance are the famous H-O-L-L-Y-W-O-O-D letters, which I never understood the point of.
Great pics!
ReplyDeleteI think the Hollywood sign is just there for the bragging.
It used to say HOLLYWOODLAND back in da ol days.
ReplyDeletefew venture to the other side of those mountains. For there lies Mordor...aka, The Valley
ReplyDeleteUch - who'd want to live in the "Valley"!?

ReplyDeleteThe Hollywood sign was originally an ad for Hollywoodland Real Estate! You can read about its fascinating history here: http://www.npr.org/programs/morning/features/patc/hollywoodsign/
ReplyDeleteOK Ezzie, where did you interview? I once went on a business trip and got the same view from my office building. I'm guessing Wilshire Ave, possibly in the 3000's?
ReplyDeleteMCAryeh - cool! :) Now that you mention it, I think I remember that...
ReplyDeleteSL - Heh. :) Honestly, I'm not even sure. I'd have to check...
Wow - good call!! Wilshire Ave, but in the 5000's. :)
Now I understand why Park La Brea is so clear. You don't get quite that view from the 3000's.
ReplyDeleteThis brings back memories of a business trip long ago and a bad hotel choice.
