7 Things I Love
I think I've done this in the past, but why not, since I was tagged, and since I don't have time to post all the stuff I want to... 7 things I love, in no particular order:

Always soooooo sweepy
I wasn't going to participate in this little activity, seeing that several people have already posted the meme on SerandEz. But after reading The Apple's meme (and others), I realized that you really learn so much about a person from it. And now, whether you like it or not, I am going to let all of you in on the secrets of iPay's sleeping life :)
Well....I would say anywhere from 5 to 7 hours a night. But sometimes it's 4 or 4.5 - and usually the day after I am more awake than if I had gotten 8 or 9 hours.
2. Is that enough sleep for you?
NEVER!!!! Even sleeping on shabbos for 15 hours isn't enough!
3. At what time do you normally go to sleep and wake up?
I usually go to bed between 12:30 and 1:30 (although during non-busy season it's more like 2 or 3). Waking up totally differs depending if I'm taking a shower in the morning, whether it's busy season at work, and how late I was at work the night before. Some days I'm out the door at 6:30, uch.
4. Do you usually fall asleep right away or have trouble?
As soon as I turn my light off, I couldn't be sleeping any faster.
5. What size bed do you have?
At home (real home, not NY) I have a twin. In NY I have a full size which I got from someone for FREE!
6. How many pillows do you use?
Two. But sometimes in the summer if it's really hot where I am asleep I don't use any.
7. In what position do you sleep?
On my side with my blankets pulled up really close to my face. If I am REALLY cold then sometimes I pull my blanket over my head.
8. Do you need it to be quiet or dark to sleep?
Not at all. I fall asleep at work sometimes sitting up. woops :)
9. Do you use earplugs or an eye mask?
Neither. But I always wanted to be one of those girls that sleeps with an eye mask.
10. Have you ever used a sleeping aid long-term?
Nope.
11. Do you use headgear, a night retainer, or a biteplate?
I stopped wearing my retainer a loooong time ago. But I never should have stopped.
12. What do you normally wear to bed?
Wellllll in the winter, usually a sweathsirt and pants. If it's insanely cold, then sometimes a sweatshirt, two pairs of pants, and socks. Oh the hood on my sweatshirt is on and pulled realllly tight. And one time in band camp, no just kidding. One time in seminary, I slept with my mittens on too. And in the summer....shorts and t-shirt/tank top.
13. Do you frequently fall asleep in your clothing?
Only if it's on purpose. Like sometimes when I am taking a 6 AM flight back to NY after a yomtov, waking up at 4 isn't the most pleasant thing in the world. So I sleep in my clothes in exchange for 10 more minutes of sleep.
14. Do you prefer a heavy or light blanket?
Whichever, although in have been sleeping with 2 heavy-ish blankets recently. It's just so....yummy.
15. Do you prefer warm or cool PJs?
I believe I have explained myself at length in #12.
16. Do you wear socks to bed?
Sometimes. And for times where I can't decide if I am hot or cold, I sleep with one sock on and one sock off.
17. What is your bedtime routine?
Crawl into bed, read for a lil bit, all while listening to the radio or my iPod.
18. Do you listen to music when you’re falling asleep?
Yeah I usually set the sleep timer on my radio. I can certainly fall asleep with the music on, but if I like the song I won't be able to fall asleep because I am singing along or enjoying it too much. hehe.
19. Have you sucked your thumb in recent years?
I have never sucked my thumb in my entire life.
20. Do you still sleep with your childhood blankie/teddy?
Never had one! I think I had more like a childhood purse or something....
21. Do you snore?
Nope. Well, sometimes when I'm sick.
22. Do you sleeptalk or sleepwalk?
I have definitely been known to talk on occasion. I guess I really never shut up!
23. Do you wake up to use the bathroom often?
Almost never. But it is SO annoying when it does happen.
24. What things inhabit your bed aside from a blanket and pillow?
I think it's better if we keep this one to myself. Let's just say....a lot of crap, unfortunately.
25. What kind of alarm clock do you use?
My clock. Beeps for the first alarm and then its the radio for the second one.
26. Do you ever wake up before your alarm?
No, not usually.
27. Do you frequently take naps?
On shabbos, absolutely. At work, i have been known to go to the back of a desk area where no one sits and take a nice 15 minute power nap.
28. Have you ever slept ‘under the stars’?
No, I'm not really an outdoors kinda gal....
29. Can you fall asleep on a bus, train, or airplane?
On an airplane, FOR SURE. I couldn't stay awake for an entire plane ride to Israel, are you kidding me?? On the train to work everyday, I never do..I like to watch the people around me while I bob my head to my music. Or I do my makeup.....
30. Have you ever fallen asleep and missed your stop?
Nope, thank G-d.
And last, but not least,
31. Over the course of a lifetime, the average person swallows six spiders in his/her sleep. How many do you think you're up to?
Uh, not every Snapple cap is true.

A Sleepy Meme II
Pobody's Nerfect came up with a very entertaining meme below, so I'm going to listen to her instructions and answer it. For those who know me, I think this will be a lot of fun... :) [hit expand to see]
1. How much sleep do you get on an average night? That was fun. The comments should be good... I'm going to tag a few people, but I'm adding the stipulation of splitting applicable questions into "normal" and "at SerandEz" when answering. Hehe! I tag: Apple, SJ, FwA, Chana, Moshe, Ed, and Diana.
Haha! Anywhere between 0 and 6.5 hours, I'd say. Average about 4.5 to 5 hours.
2. Is that enough sleep for you?
YES.
3. At what time do you normally go to sleep and wake up?
Hehe again. Varies... but on a "normal" night, probably go to sleep between 2am and 4am, and wake up anywhere between 7 and 8:30am.
Alternatively, depends on who is staying over that night.
4. Do you usually fall asleep right away or have trouble?
Have trouble, unless I'm exhausted, which is part of why I go to sleep so late. Better to stay up and read, learn, talk to people, or whatever than to lie there going crazy.
5. What size bed do you have?
Full.
6. How many pillows do you use?
Two! If I don't have two, I've noticed I'll feel it contribute to a reaction. Weird.
7. In what position do you sleep?
Either on my left side or on my back. Left side is better.
8. Do you need it to be quiet or dark to sleep?
Generally.
9. Do you use earplugs or an eye mask?
Nooo. Those would freak me out - I'd wake up and think I'm either blind or deaf.
10. Have you ever used a sleeping aid long-term?
Never used any.
11. Do you use headgear, a night retainer, or a biteplate?
No, but my brother used to!! It was really nerdy. :)
12. What do you normally wear to bed?
T-shirt and shorts or boxers.
13. Do you frequently fall asleep in your clothing?
Not as much as I used to, but occasionally. There's actually something really nice about it! (What?!)
14. Do you prefer a heavy or light blanket?
LIGHT. Grr. And knitted, not those annoying duvets that everyone uses. I boil in our apartment because we have duvets... ugh. Yuck. I hate it!
15. Do you prefer warm or cool PJs?
Cool. I like it cooool when I sleep.
16. Do you wear socks to bed?
Heck no! But when I sleep in clothes I don't even bother to take socks off. I'm consistent like that.
17. What is your bedtime routine?
Umm, go to the bathroom, brush teeth (sometimes), go to sleep? Put phone near bed, wrap glasses in yarmulka, and that's about it. Oh! Make sure the blanket is facing the right way and not twisted or sideways. Yay for neuroses!
18. Do you listen to music when you’re falling asleep?
I used to, but not anymore.
19. Have you sucked your thumb in recent years?
Nope! Don't want that overbite back...
20. Do you still sleep with your childhood blankie/teddy?
Nope. I think my Mom has the blankies somewhere, and the teddies are still in my old room at home.
21. Do you snore?
NO! (Don't believe whomever says otherwise.) Actually I think I do slightly when I'm stuffed.
22. Do you sleeptalk or sleepwalk?
No, but I'm SO tagging Serach... :P
23. Do you wake up to use the bathroom often?
Nope! I always make sure to use it right before I go to sleep even if I don't need to, because there's nothing worse than having to get out of bed in the middle of a good sleep.
24. What things inhabit your bed aside from a blanket and pillow?
Hmmm... anywhere between nothing and a whole ton of stuff, so I really can't answer that one...
25. What kind of alarm clock do you use?
The typical annoying one everyone has with the digital clock. Alternatively, Serach and Elianna.
26. Do you ever wake up before your alarm?
If I set it, I almost always wake up a few minutes before it goes off. It's one of the strangest qualities, and it started back in high school when I'd get up at 5am to borrow other people's notes. I'd set my alarm, then wake up at 4:50.
27. Do you frequently take naps?
Nope. Only when I have a headache or I know that I'll need a bit more energy for whatever I need to get done.
28. Have you ever slept ‘under the stars’?
Oddly, no. I think I'm so the type to, yet never have. I love lying out and staring at the stars, though...
29. Can you fall asleep on a bus, train, or airplane?
With much difficulty. But when I do, I often feel like I've slept far longer than I actually have.
30. Have you ever fallen asleep and missed your stop?
No - I'm almost as neurotic as Pobody on this one. I'll keep waking myself up to check... but I *have* had to run for the closing doors a few times.
And last, but not least,
31. Over the course of a lifetime, the average person swallows six spiders in his/her sleep. How many do you think you're up to?
GROSS!! None. I think I'd gag.
A Sleepy Meme...

25. What kind of alarm clock do you use?

given my track record, what do you think?

And last, but not least,
31. Over the course of a lifetime, the average person swallows six spiders in his/her sleep. How many do you think you're up to?

so.
7 random facts about me. here goes.
1. I'm obsessed with dimples. And I know that obsession is a strong word. As a kid, I would sit with my fingers poking into my cheeks hoping the indentations would stay. Boy was I upset when I found out it's just a muscle weakness. Now I just poke my fingers into the cheeks of every person I meet who was graced with lovely dimples. Just ask CornerPoint! A few weeks ago I was at a friend's house and someone managed to get a jellybean to stay inside her dimple!
2. I'm petrified of worms. Which is strange, given that i love snakes, bugs, frogs, etc. I was that annoying camper who used to terrorize my counselors by bringing caterpillars into the bunkhouse... We still can't figure out why I'm so freaked out by worms. I hate walking outside after it rains when all the shriveled worms are dotting the sidewalks.... BLECH!
3. I'm addicted to my tweezers. I pluck while I'm on the phone, before my shower, after my shower, while I'm deciding what to wear in the morning, etc. My friend recently commented that every time she walks into my room, my tweezers and mirror are on my bed. In 10th grade I actually resorted to plucking my legs when i ran out of eyebrow hairs to pluck. It may be an addiction but hey, at least I don't have a unibrow!
4. I always walk on the left of the person or group I'm with. Some call it OCD. I call it, hey, it doesnt interfere with my life, so get off my case and let me go around you.
5. I always sleep in a sweatshirt, even in the summer. Actually, especially in the summer if the air conditioning is on. Just as long as it's not stuffy. Stuffy is probably the only variable with which I cannot sleep. I like sweatshirts because I love being warm and cozy. Being in a sweatshirt is like being in a hug. The biggest problem is choosing which to wear- I have quite a large collection, mostly from camps and schools and such, but others from my friends' camps and schools and such. I especially love when a sweatshirt smells like the person from whom I permanently borrowed it...
6. I'm makpid about shva na and shva nach. (For non-Hebrew readers, that's a pronunciation thing about which many- probably most- orthodox people are lax.) Probably get that one from my father, who is a real stickler for pronunciations. I'm also fanatic about grammar (see my post about 'a whole nother' for details...) So for the record... it's "U'meekol tuv l'olam al yechaSIraynu."
7. I know both the Greek and military alphabets in song. I know, I'm a nerd. With way too much time on my hands. But it's fun. I'm currently working on memorizing Tom Lehrer's version of the periodic table of the elements and Yakko Warner's (from the Animaniacs) "All the nations in the world." I'll get back to you when they're done.
So. Think I'll ever get married?
hehe.

Lucky 7
I was tagged by MaddHatter to do the 7 meme, and while - as SJ noted elsewhere - this meme has incredible similarities to the old 8 meme, just shorter, someone else noted that there are way more than 7 strange things about any of us to list.
Rules:I'm tagging any commenter who doesn't have their own blog [examples: Rea, Special Ed, G, Mommy, etc.] and any contributor here who doesn't have their own blog [Hyrax, MordyS, Pobody's Nerfect, etc.]. Here we go:
- 1. Link to your tagger and post the rules.
- 2. Share 7 facts about yourself; some random, some weird.
- 3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names and link to them.
- 4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog.
- 1) I can't stand it when people put silverware on the 'wrong' side or in the wrong order. Forks on the left, knives and spoons on the right! Is that too much to ask!? Oh, and cups at the top right, too.
- 2) I'm obsessed with symmetry. Things need to be balanced [and preferably around a center point] or I'll go nuts, with the lone exceptions being allowing for artistic flair or some kind of practicality. If you'd see our living room, you'd notice wall units on either side of the doorway to the kitchen; comfy chairs across from one another; a long couch along the long wall and a shorter couch along the short wall; a tall lamp in opposing 'corners' and, since one is on one side of a couch, a short lamp on the other side; a computer desk and table that are of the same width along the other long wall; and another wall unit evening out the other corner. And when we open up the table, I turn the comfy chair so it 'looks' at the rest of the room, or I take it out.
- 3) I can't sit with my back to people. I think it stems from some kind of fear of getting stabbed or shot in the back. (Feel free to psychoanalyze at your leisure.) On a similar note, I have trouble walking away from someone with my back completely towards them; I take a slightly curved angle so I can be half-turned. Interestingly, the lone exception to this is when I'm playing football.
- 4) I'm not a big chocolate person [Ser would say here: You must be a big something person!], though I appreciate anything good that has chocolate in it or really good chocolate. My favorite desserts have always been (as far as I can recall) my mother's chocolate and coconut mounds; my mother's custard cake; and my mother's chocolate cake with white frosting for my birthday when I was a kid. And my own chocolate chip cookies, because nobody's are as good as mine [except sometimes people in my family, excluding Dad]. If you're wondering why we rarely have dessert here, it's because nothing is quite as good as those.
- 5) Shaking my leg keeps me calm, collected, and helps me think. When I don't do it, I interrupt people more, I don't think as clearly, and I'm just overall more nerve-wracked. Now will everyone please stop complaining!! I don't care if it shakes the whole room and makes you nauseous! In all seriousness, it lets out nervous energy. Interestingly, before football games in high school, I'd spend the morning consciously stopping myself from doing it - it would build up an adrenaline rush. By the time the game started, I was loaded with extra energy. Perhaps it was mostly psychological, but it certainly felt like a huge boost.
- 6) I have to be doing something with my hands at all times or I go nuts.
- 7) I used to be (and still am a bit) obsessed with the number 7 (not 77 or anything - just 7). Kenny Lofton used to be my favorite player because of it, and it bothered me greatly that John Elway had dared to wear it. Lofton's little cartoon when he came up to bat was a "Lucky 7", and I loved it. Favorite card: 7 of Diamonds.

8 Things Meme
I was tagged by both Yitzchak and Chana, so I may as well do this one...
I think just about everyone has done this, so I tag G to do this in the comments, and any member of the blog who wishes to can post as well. And of course anyone else who wishes to, either in the comments or on their own blog. Oh, and Rea. Just because.
- I enjoy being undefinable. And being called undefinable doesn't really count.
- Yes, there are things that come before blogging to me. They're called "sports".
- My pet peeves are generally all found in NY-centric people, which is why I generally hate New York and find NYers to be guilty until proven innocent. Those include (but are not limited to): People who don't understand economics; people who really think that the rest of the world views things the same way they do; people who think that making more money trumps everything else and somehow means you're richer, no matter what the costs are; people who think that if you don't practice the same way as they do you are 'less religious'; people who assume that everyone shares your political views; people who are completely bigoted and don't even realize it; selfishness; lack of patience; people who think that whatever they are doing is more important than anything anyone else is; etc.
- That said, I love people who aren't like that, and it's especially impressive if they're from NY, because it's so hard to be here and not get drawn into acting certain ways - and not because people are jerks, but because you feel like you need to to survive.
- I enjoy helping other people be happier.
- On a loosely related note, I've been called an "inciter", a "manipulator", and the like, for getting people to say or do much by saying or doing extremely little on my own. Often, this includes my getting yelled at or thanked (and often, both) for saying or doing almost nothing, but the person somehow has it in their head that I did quite a bit. (shrugs) Ah well. [smiles] Whatever works. {V'hamayvin Yavin}
- I am a night person. [By a raise of hands, how many people just said "DUH!"?]
- Brevity is the soul of wit. (Shakespeare) A short saying often contains much wisdom. (Sophocles) I am a firm believer in both.

Stuck on 5 Songs
I'm too lazy to do a roundup, even though there are a few good posts out there, so I'll just do this meme from Chaim - the 5 songs stuck in my head at the moment:
As it's a Friday, if you feel like doing this one, consider yourself tagged. :)
- Carrie Underwood's Before He Cheats
- Rascal Flatts' Skin
- Nickelback's If Everyone Cared
- Rihanna's Umbrella
- Um, those are the only ones stuck at the moment. So I turned on my Yahoo! channel and took one that was stuck a while ago: Daniel Powter's Bad Day

Holy Hyrax Book Meme
Well, that bastard Ezzie memed me. (By the way, how do you pronounce that? Is it like a sheep "me'ing" or just like the word "me") Well, I am flattered and annoyed. But here goes, with one of the stupidest meme ever:
1. One book that changed your life? - "Mysterious Creatures," It was the first time in my life I found a rabbi with a sechel.
2. One book you have read more than once? - "The Lord of the Rings"
3. One book you would want on a desert island? -Could magazines be considered books?....uhhh nevermind.
4. One book that made you laugh? - Any of "The Far Side" Collections
5. One book that made you cry? - A book can make you cry? Whatever Ezzie
6. One book you wish had been written? Uhhhhhhh.
7. One book you wish had never been written? -"Permission to Receive." Just because it seems that book launched other copycats of that book using some weak arguments and it being used in Kiruv Organizations.
8. One book you are currently reading?- "The Challage of Creation," but I am moving now, so I can't find it anymore. Someone tell me what happens in the end.
9. One book you have been meaning to read? Not sure. I have a list of books given to me by Chardal and S. If anyone wants to buy me a gift certificate for Amazon, feel free to send me one.
