This is still my favorite video: Sir Ken Robinson at the TED convention in Monterrey, California a couple of years ago discussing parenting, education, childhood, and creativity. After the comments on the post below, I decided it was worth reposting. It's absolutely brilliant.
OMG, what an incredible speech! I'm so glad that you posted the video. I have seen this over and over again with my own students. Children who think differently are repeatedly punished instead of accomodated. EVERY child has some sort of ability, gift, or talent-that is, until short-sighted adults squash it.
