Simon Wiesenthal

Simon Wiesenthal has passed away at 96. Bloghead refers to Meryl Yourish, who has links to a number of obituaries regarding the great Nazi-hunter.

[EDIT: The Yourish link is not working now, so instead...][EDIT: It's working again. Excellent compilation of obituaries.]

Orthomom links to Ha'aretz.
From Haaretz:

Simon Wiesenthal, the Holocaust survivor who helped track down numerous Nazi war criminals following World War II then spent the later decades of his life fighting anti-Semitism and prejudice against all people, died Tuesday. He was 96.

OrthoMom:
Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
We have lost a giant among men.

Amen. Jack's Shack points out our responsibility to honor his name:
And so time keeps moving on and the job of the generations that followed the survivors becomes more clear. It is our responsibility and obligation to speak out against these horrors so that no person is subjected to such inhumanity again.

May he rest in peace.
